Saco, ME - The Maine Hockey Group (MHG) of Saco is pleased to announce the introduction of The Reading Club, a new program sponsored by the MHG that rewards children for reading. The MHG will be granting a free public skating pass to children who read three books over the course of their summer vacation.

Children can obtain special bookmarks from MHG, local libraries, and recreation centers that will help track their reading progress. Once a parent verifies the reading, the child will be granted one free public skating pass to the MHG Ice Centre.

“We are happy to have the opportunity to offer a program to the community that supports reading and physical health, two things that are vital to a child’s development,” said Sean O’Brien, President and General Manager of the Maine Hockey Group, LLC. ‘”We hope this will encourage children to read even more books, and ultimately get out on the ice!”
